When a student does not show up, or call to cancel their appointment, this is considered a "No Show". The advisor will log this absence into our database as a "No Show" and it will remain a part of your permanent advising record. Once this has occurred, the student will be required to wait 3 weeks from the date of the missed appointment before they can meet with an advisor. After the 3 week sit-out period, the student may be seen again. Students who opt to repeatedly miss their appointments may have their opportunity to meet with an advisor discontinued.
Last year 543 students "No Showed" for their appointments in our office. This number accounts for 25% of our undergraduate population of 2,100 students. That works out to 11 students per week or 2 students per day. Please keep this in mind when you are concerned about potential wait times in our office and/or the time it takes to meet with an advisor.
Thank you.
