Adam Sikula, Director

Adam Sikula holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from Kent State University in Ohio. He earned his Master’s of Education degree in Educational Leadership, with an emphasis in Higher Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Mr. Sikula currently teaches in the Department of Educational Psychology and through University College. He enjoys working with Faculty Senate, and other entities on campus, which look to move UNLV in a positive direction.

Adrian Castrejon, Academic Advisor

Adrian received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from UNLV in 2004.  He went on to receive his Master's degree in the same field in May of 2006.  Adrian currently serves on the Faculty Senate Public Safety Advisory Board; he is also the Curriculum Coordinator/Student-Worker Supervisor for the GCUA Advising Center. Adrian served in the U.S. Navy for four years prior to coming to UNLV.

Ebony Igeleke, Academic Advisor

Ebony received her Bachelor or Arts degree in Sociology with a Minor in Communications from Texas Christian University in 2004. She went on to receive her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration from UNLV in 2006. In addition to her duties as Academic Advisor, she serves as the GCUA Advising Center's Recruitment Coordinator.

Gloria Cooper, Administrative Assistant

Gloria Cooper is a 10-year UNLV classified staff employee with the majority of her years volunteering, growing, and developing within the Division of Student Life.  She has always enjoyed working with young adults. Gloria has been fortunate during her tenure here at UNLV to assist in the academic/professional development of many UNLV students, while working along side some outstanding staff, faculty, and administrators, drawing much inspiration from those encounters. Students Rule! “I believe that life is naturally beautiful. I strive to enhance that beauty through the service that I give.”

Samara

Samara Stroum, Peer Advisor

Samara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from New England College in 2003. She moved from Boston, MA to Las Vegas in 2006, and is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Educational Leadership at UNLV, with a concentration in Higher Education and Student Services. She has worked as Graduate Peer Counselor in Financial Aid & Scholarships. In Fall 2008, she is looking forward to collaborating with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at UNLV on planning new initiatives to address issues of diverse cultures and communication between groups on-campus.

Ana Vargas, Peer Advisor

Ana was born and raised in Durango, Mexico. She is a Junior here at UNLV, and is currently majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. She plans to go to law school and specialize in Immigration Law after completing her degree. Ana enjoys working for the Student Advising Center and loves life at UNLV.

Cierra Bryant, Student Worker

Cierra Bryant was born in Gardena, California. She is in her third year at UNLV. She is Majoring in Hospitality Management, and after graduation, she plans to pursue her MBA at USC. She enjoys college life at UNLV.

kerwin

Kerwin Molina, Student Worker

Kerwin Molina was born in Long Beach, California. He lived there for 12 years and moved to Las Vegas in the middle of the eight grade. Kerwin went to SNVTC for high School and graduated with an honors diploma with a technical degree in Graphic Communication. Kerwin is currently enrolled at UNLV and is majoring in Criminal Justice. Kerwin is planning to finish in two years and go back to California for law school. Kerwin wants to become an active lawyer in the immigration movement.

Cedric

Cedric Utley, Student Worker

Cedric Utley is a California native who transferred to UNLV from Chico State University in California. He is enrolled in the University Studies program and expects to graduate by fall 2009. After he graduates he would like to be very active in the community and to help out other people who are in need. He also says that he would like to obtain a Masters Degree at some point in his life as well.
