April 2008--The College held its annual Scholarship and Awards Reception at the Tam Alumni Center on April 17. More than 40 students were recognized as either scholarship recipients for the next academic year or for their achievements during 2007-08. Faculty award recipients also were recognized during the ceremony, which was attended by an audience of more than 100 faculty, staff, students, family, and friends. More than 100 people attended the 2008 Greenspun College of Urban Affairs Scholarship and Awards Reception honoring outstanding students and faculty.

February 2008--Professor Krystyna Stave of the Department of Environmental Studies and a team of fifteen students and alumni traveled to Los Angeles to facilitate a stakeholder workshop on zero waste. Working with laptops in small groups, the team helped about a hundred L.A. residents use a simulation model developed by Dr. Stave to understand and evaluate strategies for achieving zero waste by the year 2030.

September 2007--Greenspun Hall gets "topped off" with a special ceremony marking the final portion of concrete set into the last floor of the building. About two hundred people attended the event, including the construction crew. Below are Dean Martha Watson (center, without hard hat) and members of the Greenspun family and other dignitaries.

Summer 2007--Dean Martha Watson, Communication Studies Chair Thomas Burkholder, and Director of the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies Ardyth Sohn traveled to Japan and lectured to the Japanese Association for Current English Studies. They also visited students and faculty at Tsuda College, Rikkyo University, and Aoyama Gakuin University to discuss student and faculty exchanges and research collaboration.
